Ms Taonga Phiri is currently serving as the Rhodes University Student Representative Council (SRC) Secretary-General. Previously, she served as the International Affairs Councillor on the same Council. Apart from serving on the SRC, she has also served as a house committee member for her residence. She is currently in her final year of her Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Legal Theory and Politics and International Studies.

As an international student originating from Zambia, her commitment to leadership comes from the passion to create inclusive environments for all students, especially international students.
