SPEAKER BIO

Philiswa Mncube

A qualified Language Practitioner and Master of Arts candidate in African Languages and Culture. My research is on the promotion of isiZulu as the local indigenous Language of two Selected Universities in KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa at the University of Zululand.

I am also employed by the Durban University of Technology as an International Students Relations Officer in the International Education and Partnerships Directorate. My past experience includes Lecturing in Intercultural Studies and Translation Theory and Practice at DUT, Communications and Marketing Officer for the Alliance Française in Durban, and Events Marketing at the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. In my current position, I facilitate programmes on Intercultural competence, Diversity and Inclusion and organise international events. Moreover, promotion of international collaborations and engagements within the institution, and administration of International students.
